B-Day+125: Revealed!

A quiet week, nothing much has happened really.  However the scaffolding was removed yesterday, meaning we can see the extension properly for the first time – here it is:

B-Day:121 – Windows delivered

Windows were delivered today, but the scaffolding is in the way so they couldn’t be installed.  No more news – apart from the fact that the bathroom is still standing.

B-Day+116: Tread carefully…

No running, jumping or bombing in the bathroom please!

Why?  Because the bathroom is being held up by three green metal acro props.

Hopefully our steel beams will be put in tomorrow, until then it’s to be tippy-toes only in that corner of the house.  In other news, all the electrical cables and boxes are done, and neatly labelled ready for connecting up.

And yesterday they built us a bit of internal stud wall, complete with a rather narrow (but not too narrow) door – as demonstrated below:

One more development today – the cavity closers are in – ready for doors and windows soon hopefully!

B-Day+114: The roof is finished!

Looks like the roof is completely finished – the ridge tiles are done and all the flat roof details are also complete.  Just waiting for the cap stones for the parapet wall, then the scaffolding can be taken down.

B-Day+110: Electric gutter

The gutters are done, the fascia boards are painted, the windows and doors have been ordered, the insulation and plasterboard is going in and the first fix electrics is being done! Progress!  (Click on the pictures for larger versions)…

B-Day+104: and more tiles

The main roof tiles are now all done, so just a few details like flashing and ridge tiles to go, then the roof is done and the scaffolding can be taken away!
