If we still had to pay Window Tax, we’d be making some savings after today’s work! Our side kitchen window was removed and bricked up as part of the repairs to the chimney wall.

And here’s the brickwork where the chimney was, all this will be covered in plaster – hence the odd bricks. The cranked steel beam will be sitting on a padstone on top of these bricks.
And finally… we got a sample of the roof tiles. It wasn’t possible to get reclaimed ones but the new ones are exactly the same as the 80 year old Dutch/Belgian tiles already on the house!
