B-Day+58: full speed ahead!

The bricklayer was kindly sent an assistant today and things progressed very nicely. That and National Grid showed up, dug a hole in the pavement, then put in a new gas pipe to our new gas meter box. The hole in the pavement will be filled in “within four days”…

Our all-new gas meter box is ready and waiting for it’s all-new gas meter! At that point we say goodbye to the luxury of hot water until the new boiler is installed…

B-Day+54: Down the side and round the front!

Lots more blockwork today as we needed to get to the front of the house to build in the gas meter housing tomorrow.  Gas meter is moving on Monday meaning we say goodbye to our hot water :-(

B-Day+44: …and higher…

The bricklayer has built the dumy frames for the patio door, and built up the outer leaf a bit more, taking shape nicely – despite the damp conditions.  The concrete slab was turning into a swimming pool last night.
